Rider of the Whale

 Morena homelearners,


slowly, our classroom is filling up again, we have had 19 children in the last few days. Also, Pip will be teaching us Te Reo again! She will be with us every Wednesday morning, while I will do other work for the school. We will do our Main Lesson after Kapahaka- I don't want to miss out on that part.


Today's story is about a remarkable young woman who had also went to the Academy Awards, where you can win an Oscar. Unfortunately, not everybody was considerate towards her- some people really can't mind just their own business.





GEOMETRY

(I attempted to make photos of the process on the board, which for some reason failed epically. Never mind- try to follow the instructions and the pictures and have some fun- if you can make absolutely no sense of this, I'll talk you through it when you are back at school)

This week, we are going to start again with a circle divided in 12 even parts. You know now how to do this right?



Before you colour this in, place the needle of your compass on the original circle, exactly in the middle of one of your twelve circles. Make a circle with the same radius as you made the other circles. Again, walk your compass around the circle 12 times.


Put on some nice relaxing back ground music and colour this beautifully. Warning: this is quite addictive!

Remember your spelling and Dragon Maths too. See you tomorrow!

We Are Going On A Bear Hunt and We're Not Scared!

Kia ora amazing Class 4, I hope you all had a happy Easter and that the Essential Easter Bunny managed to reach you. Before I launch into today's task, here are some great pics which I found in my inbox today. I tell you, seeing some of you made me more happy than finding chocolate eggs! Emilia and her sister really love the painting Maia has a new bench buddy Measurement lessons in action with delicious results- maths is so much fun! The Comfort of Good Food

Hello Class 4, hope you are well. It took me awhile to figure out what day of the week it was today, but I looked it up and it is Friday. I will give you a journal break over the weekend, some of you put a lot of effort in so you'll have the weekend to finalise or catch up any tasks. I have just seen Xanthe's title page of her journal which is sumptuous! It is inspired by two books she has been reading. I didn't even say you had to make a title page, it was her own initiative. Great work Xanthe. I am part of an online group called Dutchies in New Zealand. Normally we share relevant information or a joke which nobody else than us Dutch immigrants gets. Since the lock down, people suddenly started posting all sort of delicious food they had cooked using their Grandparents recipes.
