Fashion

Oh, I love clothes! All those colours and shapes...They are a way to play with art every day. So today's person is close to my heart, even though I am not much of a sewer myself.

Kiri Nathan

Super sorry, but the last shot just doesn't want to be turned around!

Like every other day, write Kiri's story and the whakatauki at the top in your book. Illustrate it with some fashionable pictures!

Today is Wednesday, which is Kapahaka and Te Reo day. I have a newsflash for you: from now on, Pip will be coming in every Wednesday morning and teach Te Reo- how cool is that?!? After morning tea we will go as usual to Kapahaka and then we do Main Lesson after that, just before lunch.

I am not sure how to get you to do that at home- have you gt some rakau and can you practice our latest waiata with that? You could teach your whanau- we do 36 passes in the last part, that's going to take lots of practice for sure.

Did you do any gardening yesterday? Georgina (and therefor also Fleur) is also in isolation. Georgina send me a great idea for you to do at home:

Gardening

Tea for two- your plants and you! Last couple of gardening lessons we have been learning about making garden tea (liquid fertiliser) and how to mulch the garden.

Garden Tea: While we do enjoy a warm herbal tea during class, your plants like a slightly different flavoured tea! At home you could make a garden tea from what you have at hand, such as beneficial weeds like dandelion, nettle, or you can even use compost (check for no worms and slaters). Make a quick tea like we did in class or top up with water and leave a couple of days to make a stronger brew (stir each day) then use like a juice concentrate = pour some in the watering can and top up with water. Your plants will love you for it.

Mulch: Putting mulch around your plants is like tucking your veggie into bed with a warm blanket on top. Mulch keeps the soil moist & warm, supresses the weeds, and as it breaks down it becomes food for the plants. Mulch up your garden at home, using what you have at hand, such as cardboard, straw, and autumn leaves.

Happy gardening! Georgina

Geometry

Usually you would do geometry on Wednesday, but I will put that on tomorrow's blog, which means I can take photos of the board while I teach the class. It is going to be a fun one, I promise (but then... aren't they all????)

See you tomorrow Home Learners, kia kaha!
